The handwork
Handwork set between the dots
Once the knots are opened, our Bengaluru artisans embellish the pattern by hand, following the dots the Bandhani left behind.
How it is made
Woven, tied, dyed, finished

Woven in Banaras
The pure silk base is woven in Banaras and sent to Gujarat.
-

Tied by hand
Artisans in Gujarat pinch thousands of tiny points and bind each with thread.

Dyed with natural dyes
The silk is dyed colour by colour. The tied points resist the dye, and the dots appear when the knots open.
