The Fabric Fact-Sheet: Pure Silk Tissue
Most "Tissue" sarees in the mass market are made from synthetic metallic yarn (polyester). These are stiff, itchy, and have a "brassy" plastic shine.
Why our Pure Silk Tissue is the Highest Grade:
- The Material: We use 100% Natural Silk Yarn in both the warp and the weft. This is then interwoven with Fine Zari threads.
- The Luster (Refraction vs. Reflection): Synthetic tissue reflects light like a mirror (harsh and white). Pure Silk Tissue refracts light like a prism. This creates a multi-tonal "iridescent" glow that changes as you move.
- The "Breathability": Real silk is a natural protein. It regulates body temperature, keeping you cool in the summer and comfortable in the winter. Synthetic tissue acts like plastic, trapping heat and causing discomfort.
- The Weight: High-grade silk tissue on its own s incredibly lightweight yet has enough "body" to hold crisp pleats.
The Fabric Fact-Sheet: Pure Silk Velvet
There is a massive difference between “Regular Velvet" and "Silk Velvet”. 90% of the velvet sold today is Polyester or Micro-velvet, which is essentially plastic.
Why our Pure Silk Velvet is the Highest Grade:
- Silk-Base Construction: Our velvet has a Pure Silk base. This gives the fabric a "fluid" drape. Polyester velvet is stiff and "stands up" on its own; our silk velvet flows like liquid.
- Depth of Colour: Silk fibers absorb dye much more deeply than synthetics. This is why our "Arabian Nights" black or deep jewel tones look "infinite" and rich, rather than flat or greyish.
- Skin Sensitivity: Because it is a natural fiber, Silk Velvet is hypoallergenic. It won't cause the "static" or skin irritation often associated with synthetic velvets during long wedding events.
About Handwork:
We use imported embellishments that come from Europe/Japan along with high quality Indian ones. We use real mirrors. The method of handwork is the most traditional form using threads and not plastic wires. We use the most time consuming and detail oriented method of handwork which is also the best form of handwork.
